At various points in a child's lifelong learning journey, learning moves from one setting to another. At each key point in this journey, our education system aims to ensure a smooth transition of learning, whilst maintaining clear and consistent arrangements for induction and the transferrence of pupil information.

The salient goal in all transition partnerships is that we are, where possible, 'One Island, One School'.

There are 3 specific transition points within formal compulsory education on the Isle of Man. Links to the work done and ongoing in each of these are below.

EYFS to Key Stage 1

Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3

  • For all children to be ambitious for the whole of their 3 to 16 learning
  • For all children to develop healthy, growth mindsets when moving through their learning journey
  • To ensure a smooth development of learning experiences for all the Island's children
