Outdoor Learning Talk for Edge Hill Students
Mr. Coole talked to a group of students from Edge Hill University this afternoon about how the school ensures outdoor learning is a regular part of the learning experience provided by the school. He had been tasked by Cait Talbot-Landers, Learning Outside The Classroom Subject Lead at Edge Hill University, to show the students how a school with limited outdoor space can include outdoor learning experiences regularly for the children. Clear messages that came out were: really look at the grounds of any school you go into to see what is there and could be used; check out the immediate local area to see if there is a green space that could be used and use all the wider resources and educational/business/charity partners to open up the wider Island/town/city to your current/future pupils. If you know what is there before you plan, you can plan for outdoor learning to happen! Thank you to Cait and Jean Jones from Edge Hill University for choosing our school as an example to celebrate and to the students for their positive feedback. Enjoy planning for outdoor learning everyone!
