Dawn Dickens came in to talk to Y3 and Y4 about Marine Migration. She told us about some of the mammals, birds, fish and insects which migrate to the IOM. Did you know that young European eels hatch in the Sargasso sea and then swim back to the coast of the IOM? And Leatherback Turtles seen around the island nest and lay their eggs in the Caribbean! We tracked the journeys of these creatures and used compasses to find clues around the school field. We found out animals don’t need maps they use their senses to find their way. We learnt lots of new things and had good fun.
