We are collecting crisp packets to be collected by a local charity. the 'Manx Hedgehog Conservation Society'. Crisp packets have been found to be the biggest killer of hedgehogs as these small animals climb inside foraging for food and them get trapped inside and die. As crisp packets are not biodegradable this makes the danger to hedgehogs even greater. Pupils can give their empty packets to the dinner ladies at lunchtime if they have crisps in their packed lunch. Pupils are welcome to bring empty packets from home to place in a green bin next to the office. When we have collected 400 or more they will be collected. For every 2kg of packets the charity will be awarded £2. School Council members have offered to count and bundle the packets.
